Nice TV, particularly for the price. Very nice picture, lots of connections, easy to use. Sound quality is okay, I found the speakers a bit weak. After six months I finally hooked it up to my receiver and found the sound quality was much better so it’s the cheap speakers they use in it. Anyway, after six months of use, I still don’t regret it’s purchase, I feel I saved a lot of money buying this instead of the double the price Samsung I looked it. Worked fine with PC too (if your vid card supports it’s native 1920×1080, all vid cards don’t). One comment, to use external speakers, you must either hook them up through a receiver or with an external set with their own amplifier. It doesn’t support passive external speakers (where you just plug the speakers into the TV).

Viore LED24VF60 24-Inch LED 1080p HDTV (Black) User Review

I purchased this TV for only 0, so I am making my judgments based on that price. This TV has a great picture, and while cheap looking, the base is not bad. The controller is good, the only problem I have is that the remote also controls my Samsung TV and vice versa, which makes matters hard when I am using both at the same time to watch TV while playing video games. I was a little disappointed that the tv did not have s-video connections, but this is not a deal breaker. As for the sound, I read the reviews where everybody complained and I have noticed that the sound is not great, but what do you expect from such a small TV. Right now I can deal with the sound, but eventually I will buy some computer speakers and hook them up. Overall, I think this is a great starter or second TV.

The Samsung HDTV 550 is the best TV I could have purchased. It has a marvelous picture, sound, color, crispness, and is easy to use.
I would buy one for every room in the house; however, we have different sizes in our tv’s. When it comes time to replace our other televisions, we will

Coby DVD288 1080p Upconversion DVD with HDMI, Black User Review

Bought this after getting a 720p LCD TV. The old DVD player only had analog output and even though the picture looked BETTER, it still didn’t look all that great.

This COBY has the HDMI output along with it’s analog and composite outputs. So the first movie I put in looked a LOT better on the new TV.

The only problem I’ve had is deciphering the meanings of the options in the setup menus. I’m not savvy enough to know what all the options actually do, and the manual doesn’t explain anything, just has screen shots of the menus. The saving grace there is that the player leaves the picture on the screen while you change things, so you get instant feedback on every change. Also, the remote buttons and menu layouts make it easy to try a bunch of different options quickly.

This was a great surprise, since this was the CHEAPEST player I could find, and it gave me exactly what I wanted: Great picture and easy use.

Don’t have much to add other than it’s a fantastic TV for the price. I’ve had mine for a little under 6 months now, and when I first brought it home I noticed only one main problem. There was some significant lag time before the TV would recognize a HDMI source. Not a huge deal, but it was definitely annoying. I looked online and saw this was a common problem but that Sony had addressed it with a firmware update. Sure enough, I compared the firmware version it came with (can view this in the menu screen) and what Sony had on their website as the latest and it was an older one. Easy enough to upgrade the firmware yourself as long as you have a USB flash drive. Directions were self explanatory and it worked like a charm. TV has been fantastic ever since. Only other knock on it is the speakers. I don’t expect great sound from flat screens anymore, but the sound coming out of this is pretty decent. My issue is past a certain volume, I’d get some annoying frame vibration noises from heavy bass during movies. Recommend using a separate surround system for the audio with just about any TV anyway, which I do now.
